Day 18 – Fog, Gorges and Single-Lane Bridges
We rolled out into a thick fog , which probably wasn’t ideal, but with decent front and rear lights set to daylight mode, we felt reasonably visible.
Like oil and water, old blokes and hills don’t mix. This blog follows a self-supported bike tour of New Zealand’s South Island in March 2026. Starting in Christchurch, we head south, cross the Alps, then ride north up the wild West Coast to Picton. There are a few hills along the way. Let’s see how we go.
